Our trip to the mountains yesterday ended in a minor blizzard ... but it was still fun.

This morning I worked on the cuffs of the shirt, gluing in more Velcro strips to hold them closed.

I also painted on the shirt again, this time really darkening up all the seams and folds.

I’m still thinking about what I want to do, as far as decorating the cuffs with some wire, and I need to figure out some buttons, or ties for the front. Sometimes I don’t have a complete image in my mind, and that tends to slow me down as I work things out.

Great photos!

Know what you mean about invention slowing down the making. I'm in a constant "sprint" trying to just get everything done. I let my hands grab for the answer before my head can think of something. Speeds things up a lot. I swear the hands know more. The head catches up and takes the credit!

Depending on the style/shape/size/scale you'd like for buttons, check the size of heads of pins you might have? or painted, stacked paper punch outs? These can be pierced by needle and sewn on like real buttons.

It keeps looking better and better!

I like to do dirtying up/aging of cloth when it's wet - that way you can blend colors nicely if you want and edges are nice and soft.

I like the punched paper idea Shelley, I'll probably try it, thanks.

Thanks DarkStrider, I agree it works really well ... and I like the way the fabric drys into very natural looking folds.
