So after all the painting and repainting, I've decided to go with ...‘simple is better’

I cleaned off the tattoos from around the back of cheeks and now I think the character is looking more like I originally intended.

I love the tattoos around the nose, I think those are perfect and I want to keep them, but the rest were over kill.

Part of the idea behind the excessive tattoos was to hide the seam between the lower and upper face, but ultimately I don’t think they would of actually hid the seam.

I’m also considering just leaving the seams in the finished shots (basically, not rendering them out with Photoshop) since this is stop-motion, with physical, real-world puppets, sets & props. Part of the charm, doing it this way is that ... things aren’t perfect.

Anyway I have plenty of time to think about that, and who knows what I’ll want to do once I’m actually filming.

Love the simple. Love the high art choice! Jeff,,,,,,,, I hope you consider leaving the open seams in the final piece. Seeing the hand made aspect of the film I think might make it even more interesting.

I love it and, because the tattoos are still on the nose and the eyes the cut line between the top and bottom halves of the head looks more like a design choice than an engineering one. It really all pulls together and looks like a part of the design. It looks great.

And, KISS (keep is simple stupid) has always been one of my favorite tenants. I don't always follow it but I always try and keep it in mind when something is driving me too crazy.

Greta job and I can't wait to see some film tests with the new head!
